Destination In Nay Pyi Taw

The environs of Nay Pyi Taw comprise (8) townships viz. Zeyar Thiri, Pohbba Thiri, Uttara Thiri, Zabu Thiri, Dekina Thiri, Pyinmana, Lewe and Tatkone Townships. Nay Pyi Taw Airport is about 30 minutes from Nay Pyi Taw. All domestic carriers operate daily flights from Nay Pyi Taw to the commercial capital, Yangon, and the cultural capital Mandalay. There are flights via Nay Pyi Taw to tourist destinations such as Bagan, Heho, Sittwe, Myitkyina, Kyaing Tong and others.

Destination In Chin

An organized tour to Chin Hills (Mount Victoria) can be arranged by applying for a special permission from the authority. The application for the permission will take approximately three to four weeks. If you are interested in this, we can be contacted for more information. Minimum time frame of 5 days is needed to conduct an organized tour of the Chin Hills and their vicinity. The journey will start from Bagan and will come back after a big journey through the Chin Hills. As all travel through the Chin Hills is pretty rough mountain roads, it can only be made by a four-wheel-drive vehicle (or) locally available mountain jeep.

Mingun Pahtodawgyi lies in Mingun, Sagaing Division. It is one of the famous monuments in the world. It was one of the big fours built by King Bodawpaya around the place. It was built on the fifth waxing day of Tabodwe of 1152 ME, around 1791. But it was left unfinished due to a prophesy that, once the pagoda was completed, the country would break. Had it been completed, it would have a height of some 500 feet and it would have been a wonder. It was stopped at 162 feet height. Its girth is about 450 feet. Pondawya Pagoda which is prototype of Mingun Pahtodawgyi. You can study Myanmar arts and crafts of Kongbaung period in Mingun Pahtodawgyi. King Bodawpaya built Mingun Pahtodawgyi aiming to worship from Shwebo in the distance where he has ascended the throne. The pagoda was left unfinished. Two enormous prominent statues of lions in Mingun, one of the tourist atttractions is at the east stairway of Pahtodawgyi which faces the Ayeyawaddy river.From here, you can also enjoy natural scenic beauty of Ayeyawady river and green and pleasant Mingun hill. If this pagoda been completed, then it would have been the largest monument. This unfinished structure was badly damaged with cracks by the earthquake of 1838 but it is still the largest brick base in the world.

Mount Popa is often described as Mount Olympus of Myanmar and it is considered the abode of Myanmar's most powerful spirit, the Popa Goddess. A strong believe of spirit worship and the influence of animism can be witnessed in and around Mount Popa. The drive from Bagan to Popa takes less than two hours and passes through toddy palm groves. Long Bamboo ladders are tied to tree trunks. Look up at the crown of the tree where there will be black buckets suspended. You will see agile young men shinning up the trees with empty buckets and down with toddy juice filled ones as part of the daily toddy juice collecting process. Sugar is made from the juice, as is rather potent liquor. Although it is a short distance away for mere day-return excursion from Bagan, overnight is also possible due to the very relaxing atmosphere in the green tropical forest with decent lodging in a resort type of accommodation.

Do you like peace and tranquility, and visit places "far from the madding crowds?" As many of us now live in crowded cities with the stress and strain of over-population, we need periods of relaxation away from urban areas, and go back closer to nature. Situated about 7 km away from Thandwe (Sandoway), one of the ancient Rakhine (formerly Arakan) towns. It is said to have been named after the Naple of Italy by a homesick Italian. It is famous for its natural and unspotted beauty up to this day. The beach stretches about 3 km with soft white sand fringed by coconut palms. It serves as the best ground for sunbathing and recreation such as beach strolling, cycling and so on. Unlike today's beaches of Asia, it is free of noisy beachside bars, crowded people and hawkers persuading you to buy their things. There are only natural scenic beauty of the blue sea, white sand and the lovely sun. The sea is cobalt blue, without any dangerous marine animals and clean. The water here is transparent and the sea is tranquil. Bicylce tours are arranged to visit the nearby villages. The villagers usually sun dry their fish, shrimp and coconut. These products are transported to Yangon and and over the country. The best time to visit this beach during October and May of every year.

Mawlamyine: Visitors, who like the idea of driving through the villages and sleepy towns and seeing the way of life of the people, a trip to Mawlamyine is well worth the effort. One should plan for a four nights to explore Mawlamyine and its vicinity with one night stop at Golden Rock with an en route visit of Bago along the way. Mawlamyine itself a charming city, built at the mouth of wide Thanlwin (Salween) River and the confluence of the four small rivers with the Mawlamyine Hill behind. The west of the city is protected from the gulf of Mottama (Martaban) by Bilukyun Island, but Mawlamyine nonetheless is a river town.
